The Digest

It has been prophesized that one day a child would be born and this child , with the help of an ancient medallion, can control life and death. This child was born and is now about 6 years old and living in a monastery, unbeknownst to him and his protectors, a criminal by the name of Snakehead (Julian Sands) knows about this and is determined to get the child. If he can manage to force the child to resurrect him after he is killed, he will become invincible and be able to rule the world.

Luckily for the child Interpol and the Hong Kong police are hot on the trail of Snakehead , although for a completely separate reason. Bumbling agent Arthur Watson (Lee Evans) is running the operation with the help of Hong Kong police officer Eddie Yang (Jackie Chan) and another Interpol agent and Eddie’s former flamer, Nicole (Claire Forlani).

The Dish

With all that I mentioned above it seems like we’ve got a… hmmm... intriguing…no ummm.. riveting…no. A thrilling action movie that kept me on the edge of my seat….no. Oh I know! The absolute worse Jackie Chan movie I have seen in my entire life. Even the ones he did that were bad on purpose were no match for this drek. This was one of the most uninteresting and unengaging ( I know this isn’t a word, but it should be!) movies I have seen in a long time.

Let’s be honest, Jackie Chan movies aren’t made to garner Oscars. They all have the same formula – cheeky one-liners and cool fight choreography with a dash of humor. Since these movies are made using this simplistic formula, it is utter torture when they don’t work. Honestly, if Jackie’s martial arts ability can’t save it, all is lost.

The Directive

There is nothing to write home about in this one. I personally wish I had caught it on the action channel instead of wasting my gas and popcorn money.

Can I get a medal for having sat through this?
