Comment: Hi Margaret! How are you?

Margaret:
Fine and you?

Comment:
Wonderful. I’m happy to be speaking with you. How is Mommy?

Margaret:
Me too! Mommy is doing great.

Question: We’ve heard time and time again from various comedians that their comedy is born from pain. I don’t know you on a personal level so I could be wrong, but your comedy seems to grow from a dislike of social injustice. Is that an accurate statement?

Margaret:
Yes that is absolutely true. Comedy gives me the freedom to voice my opinion on the injustices of the world. I can do it in a way that disarms people by making them laugh, but also gives them a chance to really think about what is going on.

Question: Plus you have creative control.

Margaret:
Definitely. When you have control, you have a freedom that fosters creativity. That is just awesome.

Question: It seems that because of this freedom, you are in a very good place professionally. You’ve got the Assassin Tour coming up, you are producing a movie, and I even heard you on Air America Radio. You were really good on the show, will you be doing more shows? Have you thought about having your own show?

Magaret:
I don’t know. I mean, I liked doing radio. It was really fun and I wouldn’t mind doing it again and on a regular basis, but right now I’m not actively pursuing it. I’m making a movie called, Bam Bam and Celeste and starting the Assassin Tour.

Question: Tell me about Bam Bam and Celeste.

Margaret:
It’s basically a coming of age story that I’ve written with my good friend, Bruce. It’s a lot of fun and we’re having a great time making it. It’s about self-discovery and self-love.

Question: Is it autobiographical?

Margaret:
A little bit. We all put a little bit of ourselves in our work, right?

Comment: Very true. Margaret, thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me. You know that we love you at 3BC, and we are totally supportive of your work. I can’t wait for your show to hit Seattle. You know I’ll be there and maybe I can sneak backstage to see you.

Margaret:
Of course you can! Take care!

Comment: Love ya!

Margaret:
*laughs* Take care!
