WARNING - SPOILERS BELOW.
I dug this movie. It was so cute! And the kids at the show absolutely loved it. Take your kids to see " Toy Story 2" instead of that crap "Pokemon"
"Toy Story 2" is a film done entirely using computer animation. It follows the lives of a group of toys all owned by the same child, Andy. Andy's favorite toy is a cowboy named Woody (voice by Tom Hanks). We find out that Woody is actually a collector's item. In the 50's there was a puppet show on television and Sheriff Woody was the main character. Woody the doll was part of the merchandise from that show. All the toys, especially Woody, are content being Andy's toys. When there are no people around, the Toys come to life and interact with each other, watch television and play Super Nintendo. All is well in Andy's room until Mom holds a garage sale. One of the toys is broken and she puts him outside. Woody goes to rescue the toy and is spied by the evil toy storeowner. Mom tells the owner that Woody is not for sell. The owner creates a diversion and when Mom isn't looking, he steals Woody. The other toys see this happen and set out to get Woody back. These toys are a hoot. I spent almost the entire movie laughing. I wasn't alone. It seemed, at times, that the parents were having more fun than the kids. I wish I had children so I could enjoy that experience with them. The movie is solid and moves at an even pace with the exception of a song by Sarah McLachlan, which brings the movie to a screeching halt for 4 minutes. I really don't have any issues with any of the characters or the acting. Tom Hanks is back to the way I like him. He cracks me up when he plays someone that has to lose his temper. "The Money Pit" is one of my all time favorites because he goes "postal" in it. Tim Allen returns as Buzz Lightyear and he too is hilarious and in rare form. "Toy Story 2" is, I daresay, better than the first film.
A must see!
