The Digest

Once again Alice (Milla Jovovich) is fighting Zombies throughout Raccoon City. These zombies were created by a virus that was released by the same corporation that created her and it would seem that she is the only one who can fight/kill/defeat them without being effected herself.

The virus has expanded seemingly world wide and Alice had been traveling with a ragtag group of humans led by Claire and Alice’s old friends Carlos (Oded Fehr) and L.J. (Mike Epps). Also traveling with them are Betty (Ashanti) and Mikey (Christopher Egan) among others. They started out with 50 survivors and now they’re down to about 30. As they move throughout Nevada they are constantly being attacked, but for the most part the manage to stay alive. Alice keeps her distance because the corporation is looking for her, but she is never too far away. But she decides to join them when she finds clues that suggest that there is a safe and virus free place for them.

As they wander from town to town looking for survivors, they are unaware of what is going on 1,600 feet below ground. The Corporation , acknowledging the fact that the situation has gotten out of hand has been trying to clone Alice – unsuccessfully, and so the hunt for Alice has intensified.

Can the humans continue to survive when they are up against the zombies and the corporation? Will Alice sacrifice herself for the survival of humankind?

The Dish

It’s not a good thing when you sit down in front of the third installment of a movie and you can’t remember the first 2. Honestly, I was pretty much loss even with the small recap at the beginning. This just proves the point to me that this movie is really for fans of the video game. If you don’t have that basic background, prepare to be confused.

Yeah it’s cool watching Milla do her kick-ass stunts. I don’t think she gets enough credit for that because I’ve seen enough “behind the scenes” extras to know that what she is doing is hard as hell and requires a lot of conditioning. But that is about it for my commentary.

It was sufficiently gross with enough stunts to keep you busy for 90 or so minutes. I was disappointed to see the brotha rule in full effect. I mean really – dare to be different sometimes. I wish I could attack the plot for being ridiculous, but that’s just a waste of time and energy. It was ridiculous when they made the first one. I really wish they would get the fact that hit video games don’t necessarily make hit movies. But again, that would be a waste of my breath because there are currently about 8 movie based on video games schedule for release over the next 2 years.

The Directive Unless you are a fan of the first 2 or of the video game I really don’t see any reason for you to spend your hard earned money.
